Paws of Adams County has several pets for adoption! If you find one you are interested in you can submit an application, which you can find one here. Without a doubt, when you adopt a rescue dog, puppy, cat or kitten will put an instant smile on your face and you gain a wonderful companion! Once you fill out an application one of our application specialists will contact you as soon as possible. Not all animals are posted her. Please see our Facebook page for more.
All of our cats/kittens will have all their vaccines updated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and feLV/Fiv tested before adoption.
Kittens Under 1 yr. $80
Young Adults 1 yr. or older $40
Seniors Over 11 yrs. $20
All of our dogs and puppies will be updated on their normal vetting including vaccines, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and heartworm tested, as well as on a heartworm preventative, before adoption. They all live in foster homes and have been socialized with work on crate training, potty training and trust (if needed).
Puppies Under 1 Year - $350
Young Adults 1 to 3 years - $300
Adults over 3 yrs. $250
Seniors over 10 yrs. $200
$100 will be added if a recent dental was done.

Meet Dasher!
Dasher has been working with our friends at Perfect Pet.
He is a very friendly boy who knows his basic obedience commands like walking nicely on a leash, sit, down, come, and place. He is muzzle trained. He would prefer a home by himself but would be okay to go to a home with a calm housemate through proper introduction and structured playtimes. Pushy or ill mannered dogs are a big trigger for him. He does great with people and loves to give snuggles and kisses as well as going for joy rides in the car. His new owners will need to be willing to put time into continuing his training and learning the commands he knows.
Dasher’s adoption fee has been sponsored.
He would prefer a fenced in yard and I big comfy couch to lounge.
He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Wiser… Look at this lovable guy! Wiser is an almost 5 years old terrier mix. He weighs about 70 lbs, is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, on heartworm prevention and is neutered. Wiser is a BIG time cuddle bug and loves to play. If he doesn’t have any furry friends to keep him company he will politely bring you one of his favorite toys to play with. This sweet boy is 2 months shy of a year and a half old. He is 50% Dalmatian and 50% mutt. Cosmic weighs around 70 pounds and is pretty tall.
Cosmic is crate trained, potty trained and gets along with dogs of all sizes with a proper introduction. He is very good at playing with those that want to play and leaving those alone that do not. Cosmic has been around kids previously and has been just fine. He has had some exposure to cats and only shown curiosity towards them.
Cosmic feeds off the vibe of the home. If the home is calm; he is calm and cuddly. He makes eye contact like he is trying to talk to you. ❤️ But if the home is energetic or even chaotic/anxious then Cosmic picks up on that and can start to mimic that through his behaviors.
He does best with a calm, steady “pack” leader. He is slow to warm up to new people as his instinct is to protect his people - that’s the Dalmatian in him.

but my foster mom calls me Bean...as in Coco Bean...ya get it? LOL.
I'm a terrier mix who is just over a year old and I weigh in at about 18 pounds.
I get along great with other dogs and love playing with kids. I have not been cat tested, but I'm sure I could be friends with them. I am, after all, a good boy!
I have the bestest, cheesest smile!
I have done amazing at potty training, am kennel trained and walk good on a leash.

Why has this little fella not had much interest 😕? Such a cute little guy and ready to join a family of his very own. Simon is a 6 month old Chihuahua/terrior mix. He loves attention and zooming around in the yard exploring. Super "belly rubs" fan and likes giving kisses. And definitely an intruder alert warning alarm 📢! He does good with other dogs but is sometimes Mr. Bossy Pants 🤨. He has also been around cats and never bothers them. He is just a fun little guy 😊.
He is microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be neutered in a week. Please considered adopting sweet Simon and giving him a home for the holidays and his forever!
