Paws of Adams County has several pets for adoption! If you find one you are interested in you can submit an application, which you can find one here. Without a doubt, when you adopt a rescue dog, puppy, cat or kitten will put an instant smile on your face and you gain a wonderful companion! Once you fill out an application one of our application specialists will contact you as soon as possible. Not all animals are posted her. Please see our Facebook page for more.
All of our cats/kittens will have all their vaccines updated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and feLV/Fiv tested before adoption.
Kittens Under 1 yr. $80
Young Adults 1 yr. or older $40
Seniors Over 11 yrs. $20
All of our dogs and puppies will be updated on their normal vetting including vaccines, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and heartworm tested, as well as on a heartworm preventative, before adoption. They all live in foster homes and have been socialized with work on crate training, potty training and trust (if needed).

Young Adults 1 to 3 years - $300
Adults over 3 yrs. $250
Seniors over 10 yrs. $200
$100 will be added if a recent dental was done.

Meet Baby!
Baby is a 1.5 year old terrier mix. She weighs 17 pounds and her favorite thing to do is race around the backyard! Baby is shy so she does require a physical fenced yard. She is still working on crate training and potty training as well as trusting all people. Baby does get along great with other dogs and would actually love a companion dog. She doesn’t mind cats but young kids can be overwhelming for her.
Baby is fixed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested negative, on heartworm prevention and microchipped.

🐾Little man Chewy is a 10 year old pug/chihuahua mix that needs a special home. He gets along with other dogs and cats, but is not usually interested in playing with them. He prefers people, especially someone that will become his person. Young children are not recommended. He must be handled respectfully, and on his terms. He will come to you when he wants petted, to get belly rubs, and sit on your lap.
🐾Chewy is on anxiety medication, and will need to continue it to help him stay his happy self. He needs a home that will allow him to live out his life in comfort.
🐾Chewy knows how to use a doggie door. He will crate for treats. He prefers to sleep next to his human. He walks on leash and loves car rides. When on leash, a halter is recommended, pulling on a collar makes him cough. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, on yearly heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. He is ready for adoption now!

Born in rescue around the time of the Eclipse, this sweet and lovable boy was named after the stars. Leo is a funny, affectionate kitty who loves attention—though he might be a little shy at first. Once he warms up, he’s all about cuddles, flopping onto his back and wiggling around to keep your focus on him. He’s quick to jump into your lap and will happily rub his whole body against you for extra love!
Leo is also a curious little helper who likes to "assist" with chores, even if his version of helping is mostly supervision. He gets along well with other kitties and does fine with the dogs in his foster home, though he is selective about new dogs. He would likely do best with small, calm pups, given time and a safe space to observe them from above.

Old man Fife is a 8 year old dachshund/JRT mix. This sweet little guy has a lot of love to share❤️🐾.
Fife might be a little frosty faced but he still has a lot of energy left! He loves to play with his young foster siblings and occasionally gets the zoomies, enticing his siblings to play.
When he gets tired from playtime, Fife loves attention from his people and loves to snuggle. He will slowly crawl over to you asking for pets and belly rubs.
Fife does have Addison’s disease that’s managed by daily prednisone and a monthly zycortal injection.
Fife is crate trained and potty trained. He gets along well with other dogs. He has not been cats or kid tested at this time. Fife does great on a leash and loves going on walks!

🌴Lilo is an adorable 9 month old German Shepherd mix puppy. Her and her brother were dumped out in the country. We couldn’t leave them behind so they were trapped and brought into rescue.
🌴While shy at first, Lilo now absolutely loves attention/affection. Feeding time is her favorite! She squeals in excitement and her body wiggles so fast.

🐚Stitch knows no stranger. He is so friendly and everyone is his friend. He greets people with a wigglebut and seeks attention/affection. He loves his chest being scratched!
🐚Stitch loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them, big or small. We see no reason why he would have any issues with cats. He is good with kids and all people as long as they go slow until he gets to know them. Stitch is walking well on a leash although sometimes, he likes to plop down to take a break. He also loves water and enjoys laying in kiddie pools to cool off!
