Paws of Adams County has several pets for adoption! If you find one you are interested in you can submit an application, which you can find one here. Without a doubt, when you adopt a rescue dog, puppy, cat or kitten will put an instant smile on your face and you gain a wonderful companion! Once you fill out an application one of our application specialists will contact you as soon as possible. Not all animals are posted her. Please see our Facebook page for more.
All of our cats/kittens will have all their vaccines updated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and feLV/Fiv tested before adoption.
Kittens Under 1 yr. $80
Young Adults 1 yr. or older $40
Seniors Over 11 yrs. $20
All of our dogs and puppies will be updated on their normal vetting including vaccines, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and heartworm tested, as well as on a heartworm preventative, before adoption. They all live in foster homes and have been socialized with work on crate training, potty training and trust (if needed).
Puppies Under 1 Year - $350
Young Adults 1 to 3 years - $300
Adults over 3 yrs. $250
Seniors over 10 yrs. $200
$100 will be added if a recent dental was done.

Meet Ellie!
👛Ellie is a 3.5 year old Redbone coonhound. She weighs 75 pounds and is a very boisterous girl! Ellie is strong when walking on leash when her nose gets the best of her or something excites her. Her idea of greeting you includes running directly at you at full speed and flinging herself into the air as if you are going to re-create the famous lift from Dirty Dancing. She’s not sorry about it either. Once she settles down she gives great hugs and gentle kisses. This one’s eyes will look deep into your soul. LOVES food.
💄Ellie is not cut out for the apartment life - she talks back… a lot. A physical fenced in yard is preferred to keep her safe from her own nose getting her into trouble. Ellie likes other dogs but sometimes Ellie can be too much for the other dog at first. No cats or other small animals. She is fine with kids but again; she is rambunctious and 75 pounds.
👡Ellie is potty trained, working on crate training and rides well in the car. She is very smart and would do well with some obedience training - especially if there is treats involved.
💅🏼Ellie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative and on heartworm prevention. Ellie is currently being treated for Lyme disease and bacteria in her left ear.

Born in rescue around the time of the Eclipse, this sweet and lovable boy was named after the stars. Leo is a funny, affectionate kitty who loves attention—though he might be a little shy at first. Once he warms up, he’s all about cuddles, flopping onto his back and wiggling around to keep your focus on him. He’s quick to jump into your lap and will happily rub his whole body against you for extra love!
Leo is also a curious little helper who likes to "assist" with chores, even if his version of helping is mostly supervision. He gets along well with other kitties and does fine with the dogs in his foster home, though he is selective about new dogs. He would likely do best with small, calm pups, given time and a safe space to observe them from above.
This charming boy is microchipped, fully vetted, and ready to find his forever home! If you're looking for a snuggly, playful companion, Leo is your guy.

Meet Enoki!
This adorable little mushroom of a kitten is as cute as his name suggests. Enoki is a young male rescue with soft gray fur, a snowy white chest, and the most impressive set of ears you’ve ever seen — we’re pretty sure he could hear a mouse from a mile away! 😆
Personality-wise, he’s the full package: calm, gentle, incredibly sweet, and easygoing. He gets along beautifully with other cats and dogs, making him a great fit for a multi-pet home. Enoki would be a wonderful companion for respectful children or a loving lap buddy for a senior.

Meet Fife!
Old man Fife is a 8 year old dachshund/JRT mix. This sweet little guy has a lot of love to share❤️🐾.
Fife might be a little frosty faced but he still has a lot of energy left! He loves to play with his young foster siblings and occasionally gets the zoomies, enticing his siblings to play.
When he gets tired from playtime, Fife loves attention from his people and loves to snuggle. He will slowly crawl over to you asking for pets and belly rubs.
Fife does have Addison’s disease that’s managed by daily prednisone and a monthly zycortal injection.
Fife is crate trained and potty trained. He gets along well with other dogs. He has not been cats or kid tested at this time. Fife does great on a leash and loves going on walks!
Fife is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heart-worm negative, and on regular heartworm prevention.

She was recently rescued along with her sister Shirley after living in a small pen outside for the past few years.
Laverne is a 4-5 yr. old Jack Russel Terrier mix, weighing in at around 11 pounds!
Isn't she just a beauty with her fresh hair cut and her one brown/one blue eye?
She is a laid back little girl who enjoys being loved on and cuddled.
She is great with other dogs, and older, respectful children. She is not cat tested, but we see no reason why she would not enjoy having a feline friend.

Meet Gidget!
Greetings. My name is Gidget. I am a Chihuahua who is thought to be 3 years old and was found as a stray. I LOVE attention. I am working on my house breaking. I am quiet in the crate and stay in it at night and as well as when my foster mom is at work. I have no interest in toys so far and am pretty vocal when I play with other dogs. I do have a bit of a jealousy problem with my foster brother and might do best as an only dog where I can get all the love.
