To help us process your application as quickly as possible, please let your references—including your veterinarian(s)—know that a PAWS volunteer may be contacting them. If you use more than one veterinary clinic, please include all of them on your application.
If you currently have pets, they should be up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention (for dogs). Providing complete veterinary information helps us verify your pets' medical history and ensures we can make the best match for both your family and the animal.
At PAWS, we believe one of the greatest gifts you can give your pets is preventive care. Routine vaccinations and year-round heartworm prevention protect pets from many serious and potentially life-threatening diseases. If your pets are not currently up to date, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with your veterinarian before submitting your application.
